Dear Lucy Hope,
Today, we spent the day hanging out with our friends at
Lifeline, doing what we could to support their annual Golf Tournament
fundraiser. Every year they do this to promote their goals of helping children
in need around the world. They have lots of famous people come to play golf and
other people donate their time and their money to help. For us, it’s just a
great day to be around so many people who share our heart’s desire to see good
things happen for children who maybe haven’t had many good things happen for
them.
So we do what we can to help out. Mainly, I think that the staff at
Lifeline has everything well in hand and they realize that this day ministers
to us as well and so they invite us to come. Hopefully, we don’t get in the way
too much. Anyway, your sisters, Lily Grace and Lia Faith, seem to think that
they are the star attraction for the day because so many of the participants in
the tournament like to see them and talk with them. Usually, Austin comes with
us, but for the first time, he was not able to come today because he had to
work – he has a job now! We definitely missed having him with us this year.
Maybe by the time Lifeline has this tournament in 2012, you could go with us?
We spent a lot of time today talking to Dave and Karla about
the trip to Maoming. Lots of planning, but not really sure what my role will
be. I know that Lifeline wants to have me take pictures while the doctors look
over the children. I wonder if you’ll be there and if I’ll get to meet you?
Connie’s a little jealous of me right now, because she would like to come too.
Love,
Jerry, Connie, Austin, Lily Grace, Lia Faith, and Lucy Hope
